چکیده
Satellite altimetry and tide gauges are the two main techniques used to measure sea level. Due limitations of satellite altimetry, a high-quality unified level model from coast open ocean has traditionally been difficult achieve. This study proposes fusion approach gauge data based on deep belief network (DBN) method. Taking Mediterranean Sea as case area, progressive three-step experiment was designed compare fused anomalies DBN method with those inverse distance weighted (IDW) method, kriging (KRG) curvature continuous splines in tension (CCS) for different cases. The results show that precision varies methods input measurements. is better than other three most schemes reduced by approximately 20% when limited along-track in-situ used. In addition, distribution large effect but less impact model. Furthermore, spatial resolution 0.25° × generated contain more information others, which means can be applied feasible robust way fuse these kinds levels.

Sea Level Changes Along Global Coasts from Satellite Altimetry, GPS and Tide Gauge
The average global sea level was rising through the 20th century as a result of global warming [8, 9, 26]. The Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) estimated that between 1901 and 2010, the mean sea level rate 1.7±0.2 mm/yr and increased to 3.2±0.4 mm/yr between 1993 and 2010, and projected that in 2100 the largest increase in global average sea level ...
متن کاملMonitoring Sea Level in the Coastal Zone with Satellite Altimetry and Tide Gauges
We examine the issue of sustained measurements of sea level in the coastal zone, first by summarizing the long-term observations from tide gauges, then showing how those are now complemented by improved satellite altimetry products in the coastal ocean. We present some of the progresses in coastal altimetry, both from dedicated reprocessing of the radar waveforms and from the development of imp...
متن کاملModeling regional sea level rise using local tide gauge data
Currently regional mean sea level trends and variations are inferred from the analysis of several individual local tide gauge data that span only a long period of time at a given region. In this study, we propose using amodel to merge various tide gauge data, regardless of their time span, in a single solution, to estimate parameters representative of regional mean sea level trends. The propose...
متن کاملGravity acceleration at the sea surface derived from satellite altimetry data using harmonic splines
Gravity acceleration data have grand pursuit for marine applications. Due to environmental effects, marine gravity observations always hold a high noise level. In this paper, we propose an approach to produce marine gravity data using satellite altimetry, high-resolution geopotential models and harmonic splines. On the one hand, harmonic spline functions have great capability for local gravity ...
متن کاملSea Level Change in Hong Kong from Tide Gauge Records
The results from the study indicate that there is a rising trend of 1.9±0.4 mm per year in the sea level of Hong Kong. The effect of local atmospheric pressure variations on the amplitude of the annual sea level change is about 30% of the amplitude. It is also found that the interannual variations in the sea level of Hong Kong are related to El Nino and La Nina events that occur frequently in t...
